Frequently Asked — Shiraz Kitchen

Frequently Asked

A few things worth knowing before your visit — and a warm invitation to ask if we've missed anything.

Visiting
What are your hours?

Hours vary by location and season. For real-time hours, check our Google listings:

Where are you located?

We have two locations: Chelsea, NYC and Downtown White Plains on Mamaroneck Ave. Full addresses and directions are a click away.

Do you take reservations?

Yes. Reservations through OpenTable, and walk-ins always welcome — we'll find you a seat at the table.

Is there a dress code?

Chic casual. Come as you are, just not straight from the gym.

Are you kid-friendly?

Little ones are welcome, and we're happy to provide a high chair. We don't keep a dedicated children's menu, but our team can guide you to the dishes kids tend to love — buttery saffron rice, skewers, warm flatbread.

Is parking available?

In White Plains, there's a metered parking lot directly across the street from the restaurant. In Chelsea, street parking and nearby garages are your best bet.

The Menu
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?

Yes — plenty. Our menu includes a beloved selection of vegan small plates and several plant-based entrées, rooted in the herb-forward, vegetable-loving traditions of Persian and Mediterranean cooking.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes. Many of our dishes are naturally gluten-free, and our team is happy to walk you through the menu to find what suits you best.

Can you accommodate food allergies?

Of course. Please let your server know when you sit down — we take allergies seriously and will work with you to make sure every bite feels safe and cared for.

Do you offer delivery or takeout?

Yes — both locations are available through DoorDash.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes. Gift cards make a lovely gift for the food lovers in your life.

The Wine Bar
Do you offer happy hour?

Yes — every day from 12 PM to 7 PM, at the bar only. Specially priced drinks and select bites.

Can I come just for a drink at the wine bar?

Absolutely. The wine bar is a beautiful place to linger — whether for a glass after work or an unhurried evening of small plates and conversation.

What makes your wine list special?

Our list is built around biodynamic and small-production wines from around the world — bottles made with care, by people who know their land. We love pouring stories as much as wine, and our sommelier is always glad to guide you to something new.

Do you host wine tastings or pairing dinners?

Yes. Please call ahead or check OpenTable for upcoming tastings and pairing evenings — they fill quickly.

Does Shiraz Kitchen have a corkage policy?

We do not offer corkage. Guests are not permitted to bring outside wine or liquor — but our list is deep and well-loved, and we'd be honored to pour you something memorable.

Private Events & Celebrations
Can I rent the entire restaurant?

Yes — full buyouts are available at both locations.

Can you accommodate birthdays or anniversaries?

Yes, and gladly. A note with your reservation lets us prepare a little something special — candles, a dessert, a quiet word with the table. We love celebrating with our guests.

Do you offer off-site catering?

Yes. From intimate home dinners to corporate events, our team can bring Shiraz to you.

What's the minimum spend for a private event?

Minimums vary by location, date, and event type. Tell us a little about what you have in mind and we'll send a custom proposal.

How do I discuss a press or partnership opportunity?

Please email us — we'll route your message to the right team member.

About Us
What does Shiraz mean?

Shiraz is an ancient city in southern Iran — the old capital of Fars province, and one of the most storied places in Persian culture. For centuries it has been known as the City of Poets, home to the beloved Hafez and Saadi, whose verses are still recited at dinner tables today.

It is a city of gardens and nightingales, of roses and saffron, of long evenings and longer conversations. And it is, famously, a city of wine — woven through poetry for more than a thousand years.

We named the restaurant after it because that is the spirit we wanted to bring to the table: poetry, hospitality, and a glass always ready to be raised.
